A severely depleted King's Lynn Town are going to have to produce something special to keep their FA Cup dreams alive this afternoon.

Gary Setchell definitely has four, and possibly six, of his first-team regulars unavailable for today's second qualifying round clash at The Walks. And if that wasn't enough of a handicap, the Linnets will take on higher-level opponents in the shape of Hednesford Town in the second qualifying round.

Setchell said: 'I must have killed a robin or something. Sam (Mulready) was told he was just fit, having suffered concussion recently, and then picked up a dead leg during training on Thursday. I'd say he's less than 50/50. We've got four out and Ross Watson also missed training. 'It's just one of them things. Loaning players is out of the equation as it's the FA Cup and clubs don't want their players cup-tied. Three players will be back next week. But for today, we've just got to get on with it.'

Henry Eze (cup tied), Jackson Ramm (suspended), Dan Quigley (injured) and David Bridges (family wedding) are all unavailable while Watson and Mulready are serious doubts.

Fringe players Chris Ward and Shaun Stocker will step into the squad while reserve-team quartet Eoin McQuaid, Luke Pearson, Jack Frohawk and Liam Fryatt are likely to join them in Setchell's ranks.

'It would be one of the most unlikely upsets,' said Lynn's manager. 'We've pulled off lots of shocks in recent years against Worksop, Eastbourne, Telford, Carshalton, Coalville and St Neots. But these are even bigger odds that are stacked against us.

'If we are in the hat for Monday's draw it could go down as our biggest achievement yet.'

Setchell feels his players and the home faithful need to hold their nerve against their Conference North opponents.

'When you've got players like (David) Bell, (Jake) Jones, George (Thomson), Steve (Spriggs) and (Michael) Frew you've always got a chance,' added Setchell.

'We might be fragile going into the game but we'll be fighting hard if we allow ourselves to grow into it. It's vital we're still in the game after the first 30 minutes.'
