The race starts from Coldham Hall, proceeds to Breydon Water before returning.

The first boat went at 6.30am and the last three at 9.30am. The leg to Breydon was, by and large, reaching and running. One boat was over-pressed and retired but the others turned the mark and had a lively return from Breydon, into the wind all the way to Reedham. First home at 2:02pm was Stellar, skippered by T Frary with a sailing time of four hours and 37 minutes, taking the Moonraker Trophy as reward. The YNR Trophy (where times are adjusted for handicap) was won by Breeze with C Chettleburgh with the time adjusted as 4:53. The trophies for boats falling into different categories of length were; Starlight Lady Trophy (over 28ft) Breeze: the Jeckells Trophy (25-28ft) Mystery (M Ford), and the Wilberforce-Smith Trophy (under 25ft) Tamara (N Heath).
