Leaders Spireites B's promotion hopes in the Second Division of the Fox Insurance Open Snooker stuttered after a heavy 8-1 defeat by third-placed Woodside Gothic.
Jim Foulger and Luke Pinches both won 3-0, with Luke having a break of 72. Second-placed St Philips B beat Spireites D 9-0 to cut the gap to the leaders to seven. Broadland C also took nine frames against Hethersett and Broadland Bandits narrowly triumphed over Broadland B 5-4 after Keith Saunders won the first three frames for Bandits.
In Division One, Spireites C came from 4-2 down to defeat St Philips A 5-4. Paul Gifford won the final game 3-0 with a break of 53. And Broadland A beat Rileys B 6-3, with Tim Goodfellow (63 break) and Steven Waldron (breaks of 40, 36 and 38) winning 3-0. Jon Read replied with three frames for Rileys.
Leaders Woodside C of the Nigel Farrow Cars Handicap League Division One lost 7-5 to Broadland C.
