Only a minute and a half separated the top six boats in the first race on the final day of the Watling Plate series at Gorleston. Dave Houghton/John Symonds in a RS500 placed first, David Holmes/Steve Knight in the Hobie Tiger second and Martin Browne/Gary Fryer in a RS400 third.

The second race followed a similar pattern. On corrected time less than thirty seconds split the three – Chris Sallis/Jamie Freemant, Houghton/Symonds second and Browne/Fryer third. The final race, sailed around an Olympic course, was led throughout by Browne and Fryer until an unfortunate capsize on their final gybe let Houghton/Symonds through to take the win. Browne/Fryer recovered quickly to hold on second and Richard Fryer/Carol Smalls in a RS400 claimed third place.

• The first races of Series D at Beccles Amateur SC saw 26 helms get off to a slow start. Jake Shipley in his Laser Mr Angry opened his win account in a shortened race one of the Winter Tankard. In the second race Kevin Edwards in Enterprise Sharkie was out after seeing splinters fly in a collision at the start, leaving the rest of the fleet chasing Rory Kelsey and Geogie Roll in Evil Edna to the finish. Despite the best efforts of Elena Edwards and Katie Roll, Rowan Curtis, in Topper Animal, took two convincing wins to go ahead in the Tann Trophy. In the Optimists James How took race one honours and lead for most of race two only to be overtaken up to the line by Billy Folkard.
