On-loan Chelsea midfielder Jimmy Smith has been ruled out for six weeks with an ankle injury sustained during Norwich City's pre-season tour of Holland.
Smith was carried off in the final 10 minutes of the Canaries 2-1 defeat to FC Zwolle following a heavy challenge forcing the 20-year-old to leave the ground on crutches.
It was originally hoped the damage was not too serious but subsequent scans revealed damage to his ankle.
Smith has gone back to Stamford Bridge to receive treatment with the news coming as a blow to manager Peter Grant with the new season just under two weeks away.
