Buckenham Sailing Club members came out of hibernation for the start of the 2010 campaign on the River Yare on Easter Sunday.

Six intrepid boats braved the fresh north westerly for the first race, but none of the helms had woken properly from the winter lay-off as every one of them retired or was disqualified for sailing the wrong course. This was not just as lemmings following each other, as some re-rounded to correct themselves only to miss the final mark of the course, below the watchful eye of OOD Paul Wright in front of the clubhouse.

In the second race, Jim Frost in his Phantom Skylark came home ahead of Mike Spencer crewed by Sue Burrell in their Vision Natterjack and Tom Frost was third in Laser Frost. Juniors Hannah and Joseph Burrell sailed faultless courses in their Toppers.

This Sunday BSC hold their annual Rockland Race.
