Competitors in Thetford Racing's 12-hour night mountain bike race suffered sub-zero temperatures, but benefited from the famously quick-drying qualities of the Thetford Forest trails.

Solo winner Lee Woodcock (HKR) refused to be rattled by a fast start from Tim Plimmer and stuck to a plan of steady lapping with only the briefest stops – and won by well over a lap.

Team winners were Fen Boy Slackers – with speed skater James Ashby putting in super-fast laps with brother Shane and dad Paul backing up more steadily.

Norwich-based Epic Orange scored wins in the Male Pairs and Mixed Pairs. Darren Evans and Glenn Stanford were pushed all the way by the Prentice brothers and survived a last-lap scare when Stanford's saddle rail snapped, but held on to win by 41 seconds. However, Epic's Jodie Cole and Mike Auger had more than a lap in hand.

In Eastern League cyclo-cross high in the Chilterns above Hitchin there were wins for Norfolk riders Kieran Jarvis (in the Seniors) and Callum Laborde (Iceni Velo) who took his first–ever league win in the Youth Race.

Norwich rider Laborde set himself up with a very fast first lap over the steep climbs and hairy off-cambers of this former country house garden, and held off a late attack by Noah Hobbs of Lee Valley Youth.

A field of 40 women benefited from a separate race, giving leaders Gemma Melton and Alison Hogg a clear course ahead of them. Gemma (Pedal Power Ipswich) mostly held the lead, although Alison briefly hit the front on lap four.

However, the Ipswich rider eventually won by 11 seconds – to find herself being asked to do her finishing sprint again for the benefit of a tardy video cameraman. There were third places for Norfolk riders Connor Rumbles (Seniors), Paul Groombridge (Vet40) and George Farrow-Green (Juniors).

Stuart Fairweather (VeloVelocity, 52:29) and team-mate Kay Burgess (1:01:43) were men's and women's winners of the Norwich ABC 25 along the Waveney Valley,
