The first was the Bure Triples Championships at St Faiths, which produced an all-Halvergate final with Ray Lamb, Morgan Warnes and Simon Warnes playing Jason Woods, Robbie Lamb and Keith Cooke.

The early ends saw Cooke’s triple gaining the advantage but the sixth end proved pivotal as Simon Warnes’ triple scored three shots to take the lead for the first time in a final they eventually won 8-5.

In the semi-finals Warnes’ triple defeated the defending champions Betty Cox, David Sharoe and Steve Hall of Hevingham while Cooke’s triple beat Woodbastwick’s Willie Jefferies, Norma Jablonowski and Peter Jablonowski by two shots.

The Bure Pairs Championship finals were held at Hevingham and once again it was an all-Halvergate final with Josh Baxter and Keith Cooke facing Jason Woods and David Lamb. Baxter and Cooke got an early advantage, moving 3-0 up after three ends, before David Lamb produced two superb woods to reduce the deficit. With Baxter in brilliant form, Lamb’s pair had been under intense pressure from the start and it was no surprise when Lamb, forced to attack the head several times during the match, put the jack off the mat for the third time, conceding three shots. This proved to be the beginning of the end as Baxter and Cooke eased their way to victory.

In the semi-finals Baxter and Cooke beat Hevingham’s David Sharpe and Steve Hall 6-5 while Woods and Lamb beat Woodbastwick’s Derek Sheldrake and David Brawn 15-2.

The Bure Singles Championship Finals were held at Horsford BC and for the third time in as many years the final was contested by defending champion David Lamb and East Tuddenham’s Chris Mann.

Lamb enjoyed an excellent start as Mann found himself 5-0 down after just two ends. Mann got on the board with a single on the third but was 7-1 down after four. The former European Open champion though is not an easy man to beat and a determined fightback saw the score level at 8-8 going into the final end. A measure was needed to determine shot at the end but it was Lamb who emerged victorious.
