Short Mat Bowls: Wins for City of Norwich League’s top two RG Carter and Sprowston Sports
In the City of Norwich League this week it was business as usual for the top two.
RG Carter beat Horsford Heroes 13-1 at home and Sprowston Sports beat County Council 10-4 away.
The result of the week saw bottom club Old Bonds beat Costessey 12-2 for only their second win of the season.Top scorers were K Holmes, D Stearman and B Jermy who won 19-10.
Costessey then played Taverham at home and were beaten 8-6. It was Costessey's first home defeat of the season and it came despite them winning three games and losing one.
Taverham's A Furness, S Sawyer and L Sawyer won 24-7 to collect the match points. It was different for Taverham when they were away to Horsford Heroes as they lost 14-0.

Horsford BC won a close game at home to Deaf Sports 10-4 and by two shots.
Felthorpe were beaten 12-2 at home by First Bus and Framingham Earl beat Jarrolds 12-2 at home.

City League Shield semi-final draw: Taverham V Deaf Sports, RG Carter v First Bus or Horsford Heroes.
January brought no let-up in the battle between Wymondham & Connaught 'A' for the Breckland League title.
Defending champions Wymondham followed up their 10-0 win at Forncett with a hard earned 8-2 win at third placed Watton. Connaught A faced Connaught B and won 8-2 but they will see this as two points dropped. Two days later Connaught A visited Hingham Green and won 8-2.
