The Norfolk County Fours Championships at Hingham produced a series of shock results.

It culminated in Lesley Crowe of First Bus, David Sharpe of Hevingham, John Jeffery of Wymondham and Steve Hall of Hevingham lifting the title after beating Roger Steele and Billie Barker of Wymondham, Steve Easter of Harling and Melvyn Barker of Wymondham 7-3 in the final.

With some big names competing it was a final line-up that few would have predicted at the beginning of the day, but both Crowe and Hall have shown great form in county colours throughout the season while Sharpe is a tenacious performer and Jeffery is benefiting from playing at Wymondham this year.

In the semi-finals, Hall's four came from 5-1 down to beat last season's runners up Chris Mann, Debbie Sparham, Simon Warnes and Jon Sparham 6-5 while Barker's four beat Deaf Sports' Gillian Amos, Rosie Hall, Laura Hawksworth and Robin Amos 9-6.

In the third place play-off Sparham's rink beat Amos' Deaf Sports block 14-9.

Windows are into the semi-finals of the Bure Cup after a great comeback against Thorpe Marriott in the second leg of their quarter-final clash. Going into the match, Windows trailed 16-8 and after a poor opening session Thorpe Marriott had increased their lead to 19-9.

That was as good as it got for Thorpe Marriott, though, as Windows hit back, winning eight of the remaining 10 games to win 25-23 on aggregate.

Breckland League pacesetters Wymondham enjoyed a comfortable 8-2 home win against Connaught A. Making her debut for Wymondham was Janet Pinchen, who played with Melvyn Barker and Chris Mann and set the home side on their way with a 22-11 win. Banham won 7-3 at Shropham with John Williamson's triple winning 25-9, and Connaught B won 7-3 at home to Harling Griffins with Mick Utting's triple winning 22-7. A 16-2 win for Woodbastwick Owls in their Coastal League derby against Woodbastwick Eagles leave them 30 points clear at the top of the table. Second-placed Bradwell Dynamos won 12-6 at Woodbastwick Eagles but lost 10-8 at home to Hemsby Beachcombers.
