King's Lynn Town boss Gary Setchell is calling on the club's fans to turn up the noise levels and help turn The Walks into a fortress.

Setchell's in-form Linnets, second in Evo-Stik Division One South, welcome Gresley this evening having not lost in their six league matches at home this term.

However, the Lynn boss admits he was concerned about the 'morgue' like atmosphere during Saturday's 1-0 victory over Northwich Victoria, and believes supporters need to do their bit to ensure his side's nine-game unbeaten run continues tonight.

'I don't know whether they (the fans) need a few beers in them to get going but it was very quiet for the first 20 minutes on Saturday,' said Setchell.

'It was like a morgue. There was nearly 750 here but it was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. The lads commented on how quiet it was after the game. We won't score after 30 seconds in every game, so the crowd need to get behind us.

'They know the lads will give 100pc, week in, week out, whether they are playing well or awfully. When the crowd are up for it the lads are buzzing and find that extra yard. When it's really quiet, like at the weekend – when it wasn't going our way against a very good side – players get scared to make a mistake because they can hear the grumbling.

'After the atmosphere of the Coalville game, Saturday was a massive come down, and it can have the reverse effect. I want the place to be upbeat – a fortress. I appreciate we need to give the fans something to cheer about but we need them to stick with us.'

Fellow promotees Gresley, who knocked Lynn out of the FA Vase last season, arrive in seventh-placed after a reasonable start to their life at Step Four. Defender Phil Gulliver (hamstring) will miss the game after injuring himself during the weekend win. He will be out for seven to 10 days. Midfielder Dan Quigley (ankle) is rated as 'less than 50/50' after coming off with a knock in the same match.

Goalkeeper Alex Street – nicknamed Pedro – returns to the Linnets squad after his 'loan' spell at Wisbech Town was ended yesterday.

Setchell said: 'Pedro is coming back because he can't commit full-time to Wisbech. He didn't want to break his ties at Lynn because he believes he has a big future here.

'He'll be back with us today, and will play for us in the FA Trophy, and I'll be talking to him about sorting another loan deal to get him more game time. He won't be short of offers, that's for certain.'

Wisbech boss Steve Appleby – who welcomes back injury-free number one Lea Jordan for their League Cup tie at home to Newmarket this evening – thanked Street and Setchell for their help during the Fenmen's goalkeeping injury crisis.

- Supporters who attended Lynn's game against Northwich can get 2 off admission to tonight's match on production of Saturday's ticket. The offer is also open to Gresley fans who bring their admission ticket from their home game against Halesowen while season ticket holders will be given a free 2 food and drink voucher.
