Gary Setchell says he will not risk striker Russell Dunkley unless he has to as King's Lynn Town look to continue their FA Cup run this afternoon.

Dunkley missed the Linnets' midweek league draw at home to Carlton Town with a calf problem and looks set to be on the bench today on his return to Daventry Town.

The frontman scored 20 goals in 41 appearances for Town and has shone since joining Lynn this summer. However, the Lynn boss insists he will take no chances with his number nine as the Step Four clubs face off for 3,000 and a place in the competition's second qualifying round.

Setchell said: 'We know we've got match winners in our team and hopefully Russell (Dunkley) will be able to sit on the bench for us as well.

'I don't want to use him unless I have to. If we're 1-0 up I won't use him, if we're 2-0 down I won't use him. But if we're 1-0 down with 15 minutes to go and he feels his calf is alright then I'll perhaps use him.

'There'll be a lot of players that know each other on Saturday and I'll get all the information I need to off my players about them and their manager will do the same. However, it's all about going across the white line and putting in the hard graft.

'There's no question about it, my players will do that and if they do then we will have a good chance of progressing.'

New signing, defender Jason Lee, will also return to Communications Park after joining the Linnets on Thursday. Midfielder Dan Quigley sits out the last game of his suspension while defender Ross Watson begins his three-game ban.

Setchell believes his side stand a good chance of progressing if they show the same level of performances as they have in their opening Evo-Stik Division One South games this season.

He said: 'We've had a good start. We've had five games (all competitions). We've won three, drawn one and lost one but we've performed to a point in every game. No one has walked over us, we haven't looked out of our depth, and we've worked hard in every game.

'No one can question our desire and it'll be no different today. We'll go and give 110pc. If it's good enough it's good enough and if it isn't it won't be for the want of trying.'

Lynn won 3-1 at Wellingborough Town in the last round while Daventry beat Godmanchester Rovers 4-3. The draw for the next round will be made on Monday afternoon.
