Gary Setchell is backing his misfiring King's Lynn Town players to find their shooting boots at struggling Lincoln United this afternoon.

The Linnets boss was furious with his wasteful side after they crashed out of the FA Cup on Tuesday thanks to a 3-2 extra-time first qualifying round replay defeat at home to Daventry Town.

However, it was not his side's exit from the competition that bothered Setchell the most – it was the hatful of chances they missed on an evening where their two goals came courtesy of visiting centre-back Guy Sanders.

Lynn have now gone four matches without scoring in open play and will be hoping to find the net today against the Evo-Stik Division One South's bottom team – who have conceded 19 goals in five league matches.

Setchell said: 'We just need to keep believing. If the players keep getting in those positions we will score goals.

'We're creating chances, so that's not worrying me, but eventually someone needs to step up and put their body on the line. We just need one to go in off a face or a back – as long as it crosses that white line it doesn't matter.

'Strikers get the stick if they miss chances and the praise and the headlines when they score. But we have players, like Jason Turner, who will keep putting themselves in the firing line because they are big characters.

'He has scored goals for years and will carry on doing so. In Danny Beaumont, Jamie Forshaw, Steve Spriggs and Dan Quigley, and others, we have players who can all score goals and I'm sure they'll come for us.'

Defender Ross Watson is not available for the trip to Ashby Avenue as he sits out the last game of his three-match ban. Left-back Jordan Yong (foot) and striker Russell Dunkley (calf) will both undergo late fitness tests after missing Tuesday's defeat.

While Lynn have enjoyed a decent start to life at Step Four after gaining promotion, their opponents have endured a torrid opening to the campaign.

Five successive league defeats and an FA Cup exit at the hands of Thurnby Nirvana have left the Whites licking their wounds, but Setchell is not underestimating the task at hand.

'The fact is this. Lincoln United will win a game this season' said the Linnets boss.

'They've had a slow start and they've conceded a few goals, but all I care about is that we get on the bus with three points. It could be 10-0, 2-0, or even 5-4, I just want us to win.

'I'm just looking, again, for my players to go across the white line and give me 100pc, just like they did on Tuesday. We've been playing some really good football so we just need everyone, including the supporters, to all pull together.'

Former Lincoln City striker Andy Hutchinson, who missed the whole of last season through injury, may make his debut for Terry Fleming's outfit.

The Linnets have played the Whites only once competitively, in the FA Cup. A Matt Nolan brace and a goal from Mark Warren secured a 2007 FA Cup victory for The Walks outfit.
