The quest for another Commonwealth Games medal continues for Norfolk-born squash stars Laura Massaro and James Willstrop today.
Willstrop, who was born in North Walsham, is set for knockout action in the last-16 of the men's doubles in Glasgow today after successfully navigating Pool C alongside partner Daryl Selby.
The duo won 2-0 against all three of their opponents, Zambia, Gibraltar and St Vincent & the Grenadines, yesterday to seal their progression to today's knockout stages.
Willstrop, 30, is looking to add to the silver medal he won in the singles on Monday after losing 3-2 in a hard-fought final against England team-mate Nick Matthew.
Great Yarmouth-born Massaro is also in doubles action today, alongside Jenny Duncalf. The 30-year-old and her partner won all three of their Pool A matches 2-0 as well, against Papua New Guinea, Wales and Trinidad and Tobago.
The duo will be in quarter-final action today, with Massaro looking to add to the singles silver medal she won on Monday.
Norwich cyclist Emma Pooley will begin her cycling swansong in the women's individual time trial on the roads of Glasgow today. The Velo Club Norwich member has announced she will retire from the sport to focus on triathlon and running after Sunday's road race.
But first the 2008 Olympic silver medallist competes today as the number two seed in the time trial, which is due to start at 10am.
Dereham's Will Smith will compete in the men's 1,500m T54 final this evening.
The wheelchair racer will be in action at Hampden Park at 7.35pm, alongside one of the stars of the London 2012 Paralympics, David Weir.
It is business time for Fakenham's Jamie Chestney, as his lawn bowls men's fours medal bid with Stuart Airey, Andrew Knapper and John McGuinness gets serious.
The English quartet had already beaten the Cook Islands, Jersey and Zambia meaning their safe passage through to today's quarter-finals was already confirmed.
However they were unable to maintain their 100pc record on Wednesday against a dogged Northern Ireland quartet.
With rain pouring down and fierce wind affecting both teams, it proved to be a close game, eventually ending all square at 12-12.
The 27-year-old, who reached the quarter-finals of the men's triples earlier in the week, is on the hunt for a medal to mark his Commonwealth Games debut in style.
Wisbech-born Ellen Falkner will also be in semi-final action against Wales in the triples today after a comprehensive quarter-final victory yesterday. Playing for England alongside Sian Gordon and Sophie Tolchard, the trio won 24-6 against Malaysia.
