Norfolk will be without in-form Great Witchingham batsman Sam Arthurton for their opening Minor Counties Championship match against Suffolk which starts at Bury St Edmunds on Sunday.
Arthurton – whose last four scores in all competitions for the Witches have been 133, 147, 60 and 54no – will be on duty with the Essex second XI.
Vauxhall Mallards batsman Ali Shearer will make his second Championship appearance for Norfolk and the seam attack will be led by Swardeston's Michael Eccles and North Runcton youngster Kieran Bunting.
