Only five matches were played in the Gladedale Homes- sponsored Norfolk County Indoor Bowling Association's county league over the weekend as all leading club teams were involved in the Denny Cup.

In Division Three, second- placed Wymondham Dell B travelled to bottom team North Walsham B and won by 14 shots, thanks mainly to Richard Brinded again recording the highest winning rink by 40-13.

In Division Four, Pentney B played their second match of the season, at home to Gt Yarmouth B. Although Pentney B won handsomely by 38 shots, with Ivan English's rink winning 37-7, they only managed to take five points from the match.

Acle C played their first match of the season at home to Wymondham Dell C. It was not a happy start as they lost on all rinks, but the seven points takes Wymondham C into second place behind Brecks A.

In Division Five, two of the teams near the bottom of the league played each other, when North Walsham B travelled to Hunstanton B, who won by 20 shots thanks to team captain Mike Moseley's rink win by 31-8, which leaves North Walsham C now languishing in bottom spot.

The first match in the NCIBA's Top Ten league was also played, between Diss and Pentney.

The Top Ten is a new club competition, with each team, comprising 10 players, playing singles, pairs, triples and fours.

Two events are played at each club's venue. Two points are awarded for each event, with an additional point being awarded for overall victory.

Seven clubs have entered with 21 matches scheduled to be played. Diss beat Pentney by 90-54 shots, winning the singles, pairs and triples to gain seven points.

Norfolk lost their first friendly of the season to Hertfordshire 102-125 at Wymondham Dell.
