Rebecca completes under-25s hat-trick

The Norfolk Women's Bowls finals, played in a mixture of sunshine and showers over three days at RG Carter Group Bowling Club in Drayton, saw the host club's Rebecca Carter complete a hat-trick of triumphs in the Under-25 singles.

Carter, one of many rising stars of the county game, defeated Norfolk Bowling Club's Rebecca Field 21-8 in the singles final.

For good measure she also repeated last year's success in the the Under-25 pairs with Harriett Segasby, also of Norfolk Bowling Club – beating Mundford's Rebecca Body and Anna Chalk 17-16.

Three members of the Executive were among the winners.

President Anne Read and competition secretary Brenda Whitehead were in the winning Norfolk BC fours team while secretary Rosie Smith skipped Mundford's winning Coronation triples line-up.

Jackie Gibson, who was invited for an England Trial earlier this year, won the Champion of Champions and plays in another round of the national competition this weekend. All these finalists will represent Norfolk at the National Championships in Leamington Spa from July 30 to August 14.
