Norwich City players were back at Carrow Road today, after the weather forced Peter Grant into making contingency plans.

With pitches at the Colney training centre feeling the effects of the sub-zero temperatures, Grant was reluctant to use the indoor facility - hence the move into the city.

“We were told it was going to be minus six and six inches of snow so I was just trying to make sure we could actually train,” said the City manager.

“I was at the training ground yesterday morning at about 9am and it was rock solid. At 1pm, 2pm it was still rock solid and I can't afford any injuries.

“I know I could end up with injuries this morning, but I want to try it. The dome is okay, but I feel in my heart of hearts, if someone gets injured out there I will accept that but if they get injured in the dome I'll be thinking, 'we shouldn't have been in the dome'.

“I like it out in the fresh air - that's where we play anyway so let's get used to the elements.
