Even the only side to beat Lynn in 2014 couldn't halt the Stars' history-making hot streak this evening.

The Stars made it 13 victories on the bounce, and 15 from 16 this season, to continue their relentless charge to the end-of-season play-offs. And what made their latest success all the more impressive was the fact Wolverhampton had beaten them in April and run the Elite League leaders very, very close last time out at the Norfolk Arena.

While Wolves lost a last-heat decider that night, their fate was sealed long before the nominated ride last night with Rob Lyon's record breakers proving simply too hot to handle again.

World champion Tai Woffinden and talented 19-year-old Piotr Pawlicki – who was sensational all evening and bagged a huge 17 points – could not stop the Stars' unstoppable juggernaut of success speeding to more glory.

Lyon was delighted with his team's performance but was quick to praise the display of the Polish teenager who looked set for a maximum until Niels-Kristian Iversen rode superbly to lower his colours in heat 13.

Lynn's team boss said: 'It was a fantastic performance from Pawlicki. It was probably as impressive a performance I've seen from an away rider for quite a while. He had tremendous speed and had his gating gloves on without any shadow of a doubt.

'He's a great prospect for Polish speedway. He's got a lot of ability and he's going to go places without a doubt if he continues that sort of form. The Polish structure is fantastic and it's a different world out there and they seem to produce them on a conveyor belt, as do the Danes.

'I think the (British) Fast Track system, on a smaller scale, will hopefully do the same sort of thing. Lewis Kerr, Lewis Blackbirds, Jason Garrity, Lewis Rose etc will hopefully be in that sort of class at some point in their career and that's the whole idea of it really.'

Draft picks Kerr and Rose chipped in with excellent scores again as each Stars rider recorded a heat win – something Wolves could only have dreamed of on what was a poor showing from the top-four hopefuls. Kerr scored 9, paid 11, while his 'Team Lewis' counterpart was on for a max himself until he ran a last in his final outing.

Elsewhere, Iversen top-scored with 11 plus two and the rest of the points were shared about. The visitors only picked up race wins through Pawlicki and, later on in the meeting, Jacob Thorssell and Ty Proctor. But by then the damage had been done.

Their immediate thoughts will be with their reserve Ashley Morris who was taken to hospital after suffering a horrific crash in the fourth. The 20-year-old was throw wildly into the air as he caught grip on the pit bend and came down to the ground with a sickening thud, which appeared to knock him out. He was said to be conscious upon leaving Saddlebow Road.

The lengthy delay did little to stop the hosts and they could even afford to suffer an 8-1 loss, with Pawlicki going for double points as a tactical, and still power in front thanks to three consecutive 5-1 heat triumphs.

The victory was wrapped up with plenty of time to spare so it didn't matter that Wolves restored some pride with a couple of late 4-2s. It was simply too little, too late.
