parkrun round-up: Runners out in force with the sun at Gorleston, Thetford, Lowestoft and King’s Lynn

Runners were treated to warm conditions as our weekly round-up focuses on Gorleston, Thetford, Lowestoft and King's Lynn. Mark Armstrong reports
An impressive field of 343 runners took to Gorleston Cliffs in the glorious sunshine at the weekend.
They were led home by Ipswich JAFFA member Robert Chenery in 17:04 with Marc Evans (Great Yarmouth Road Runners) not far behind in 17:55. Darren Honour (Bungay Black Dog RC) was third in 18:04.
Junior runner Holly Bunn (Bungay Black Dog RC) was first female in 20:13 with visiting runner Alice Doggrett (Bristol and West AC) just four seconds further back, setting a new personal best of 20:17 in the process. Youngster Allyna Mukuya was third in 21:58.

Brenda Wilkinson celebrated her 250th event as the tail runner whilst Bob Paul (Bungay Black Dog RC) clocked up his 100th parkrun in 24:54.

Michael Leighton set a new personal best of 18:25 to lead the 230 runners home at Thetford on Saturday.
The Shepshed RC runner was followed home by Jason Michael Higgins in 19:25 as he also set a new personal best. Michael Hill was third in 19:27.
Sabine Schaefer (Thetford AC) was first female in 21:04 with Thetford team-mate Charlotte Smith second in 21:51. Heidi Teixera was third in 22:09.
Sue and Mike Pleszko set new personal bests as they notched up their 50th parkruns whilst Dave Sanders did the same in 32:47. Sue Colledge also celebrated her 50th as the tail runner for the event.

Lowestoft parkrun certainly was a quick one with junior runner Samuel Stevens (Ipswich Harriers) leading the field home in 17:12.
Great Yarmouth & District AC's Tyler Bilyard was next in 17:21 in his first taste of the Lowestoft event before Jim Burgess (Waveney Valley AC) in 17:35.
Helen Cartlidge (St Alban Striders) was first female in 20:38 with Alice Clarkson (Cambridge Canoe Club) second in 21:39. Jane Foster set a new personal best of 22:17 in third.
Carl Prewer (Lowestoft Road Runners) enjoyed his 200th event in 18:18 whilst team-mate Jo Clark celebrated her 100th in 31:25. Marie Ayer, also a Lowestoft Road Runner, clocked up her 50th parkrun in 25:09.

Matthew Allen (Ryston Runners AC) set a new personal best of 16:39 to lead a field of 344 runners home at King's Lynn.
Matt Pyatt (Renegade Runners) was second in 17:23 with Matty Adcock (Hermitage Harriers RC) third in 18:00.
Laura Thompson certainly made her first ever parkrun one to remember as she was first female in 22:03 with Lisa Pyatt (Renegade Runners) second in 22:11. Linda Marshall (CSSC Sports & Leisure) was third in 22:46.
Claire Gayton (Renegade Runners) celebrated her 50th parkrun in 29:06.
