parkrun round-up: Brundall runners celebrate with Flower Power

Brundall Countryside Park echoed to the sounds of the Beach Boys as runners celebrated a birthday at the weekend. Chris Lakey rounds up the best of the local action
Brundall
Flowery costumes and grass skirts were the order of the day as Brundall enjoyed an Hawaiian-themed third birthday party event.
Nick Eley was running for the 100th time and Alan Parsons and Katharine Bartram for the 50th.
Patrick Alderson was first in a PB 19:30. Next came Norwich Road Runner Carl White, Paul Oakley and Carl Marston, all making their Brundall debuts. For the females, Bex Pountain recorded her 24th first finish in 21:48, just outside her PB.

Matt Pyatt (Renegade Runners) was first home in 16:54, followed by Ryston Runners' Shaun Mann in a PB 17:53. Top-10 finishers Matthew Thrower – in his 50th parkrun – Lynton Battrick and Andrew Black also record PBs. First female home was 17th-placed Debbie Schwarz in a PB 20:10.

Lowestoft
There were strangers in the mist at Lowestoft, a pair of 'unknown' runners taking the leading places. Waveney Valley's Jim Burgess was third in 17:28 with female runner Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers runner Nicola Rogers fourth in a PB 18:40.

Thetford
First-timer Richard Park, from Cambridge and Coleridge AC, was first across the line in 17:38, followed by Kevin Armstrong (18:25) and another first-timer, Sara Bird, in 19:03. Second female finisher was Thetford's Sabine Schaefer who was 14th in 20:36.
Diss & District AC's Ben Dean has a new PB time of 20:13.
