parkrun focus on Lowestoft, Thetford and Gorleston Cliffs

Fifty-three parkrunners registered personal bests at Lowestoft on Saturday with 21 taking to the event for the first time.

They were led home by City of Norwich AC athlete Dominic Oliver in 17:11 with Jim Burgess (Waveney Valley AC) just behind in 17:40 as he set a new personal best. Lowestoft Road Runners' Christopher Haylock was third in 18:21.

Rachael Panday set a new PB as first female in 22:13 with Tracy Prewer (Lowestoft Road Runners) second in 22:48. Emma Bromley was third in 22:54.

Alison Ayers took part in her 275th event in 24:37 whilst Stephanie Madden registered her 125th in 29:11. Paul Banks celebrated his 100th parkrun (and brought sweets for everyone) in 21:58 whilst Michael Broxup (23:24) and Colin Oldman (20:04) notched up their 75th events.

Thetford parkrun, who recently celebrated winning the community event award at the Thetford Awards Recognising Achievement (TARAS), saw 220 parkrunners brave the winds and the cold.

Scott Hill was the first runner home in 17:59 with Nick Wheatley second as he set a new personal best of 18:02. An unknown runner was third with Thetford AC's Kevin Vaughan fourth in 19:00.

Heidi Teixeira was first female in 23:11 with Donna Finney just seven seconds back as runner up in 23:18. Natalie King was third in 23:40.

Sarah Dean celebrated her 25th parkrun in 33:05 as she ran the Thetford event for the first time.

Ipswich JAFFA RC athlete Robert Chenery blitzed the Gorleston Cliffs parkrun field as he was the first of the 350 runners home.

Chenery posted a time of 16:34 - 17 seconds outside his personal best - with Marc Evans (Great Yarmouth Road Runners) setting a new PB just behind him in 17:32. Darren Honour (Bungay Black Dog RC) was third in 17:55 as he also posted a new PB.

Colleen Mukuya was first female in 22:29 with Claire Bishop second in 22:40 (new PB). May Wong (Lowestoft Road Runners) was third in 23:02.

Elaine Haggarty (CSSC Sports & Leisure) notched up her 200th parkrun in 31:05 whilst Nicholas Dyer registered his 325th in 44:35.
