NHS parkrun

To help mark the NHS’s 70th birthday, the NHS has teamed up with parkrun UK to jointly host NHS70 parkrun day on Saturday.

More than 200 parkruns, including at least five in Norfolk and Suffolk, will be hosting special events to celebrate the contribution of the NHS to the nation, while encouraging people to get active.

The five parkruns in Norfolk and Suffolk, which all begin at 9am on 9 June, will take place at Blickling Park, Gorleston Cliffs, Ipswich (Chantry Park), King’s Lynn (The Walks) and Norwich (UEA playing fields, Colney Lane).

Local parkruns will give their regular events a special NHS theme for the day with NHS staff, patients and the wider public being encouraged to attend.

NSFT and NNUH have been asked to provide volunteers for the Colney Lane parkrun. Anyone who would like to help is asked to email colneylanehelpers@parkrun.com and say they are from the NHS.

Among those taking part in the King’s Lynn NHS70 parkrun will be staff from Chatterton House, who have their own running club which meets after work on Tuesdays.
