parkrun focus: Lowestoft, King’s Lynn and Gorleston Cliffs all featured

Lowestoft parkrun

Christopher Withey was the first finisher at Lowestoft parkrun at the weekend and was just a second outside of his personal best.

A total of 161 runners took part as the Rock Estate member was first home in 19:02 ahead of youngster Laurie Woods, who set a new personal best of 19:35 on his 206th parkrun. Lowestoft Road Runners’ Tom Galley was third home in 19:45 whilst visiting runner Matt Porter (Norwich Road Runners) set a new best of 20:02.

Vickie Grice (Lowestoft Road Runners) was the first female with a new PB of 22:31 whilst Emma Bromley (23:22) and Danielle Paisley (23:22) came second and third respectively with new PBs.

Kevan Bird enjoyed his first ever parkrun, coming home in 24:29 whilst Yvette Redpath was also taking part in her first ever event and posted a time of 24:52. Richard Daws (29:13) broke the 30-minute mark, as did youngster Harry Ellis (29:46).

King’s Lynn parkrun

Over at King’s Lynn Matt Pyatt (Renegade Runners) was first home in 16:22 with Ryston Runners’ Adam Matthews second in 16:37. Visiting runner Lee Tatum (Ely Runners) was third in 17:30, setting a new personal best in the process.

Sally Lynn Hurst set a new personal best as first female in 20:14 whilst Geraldine Larham (Vegan Runners) was just behind in 20:39. West Norfolk AC’s Debbie Schwarz was third in 20:59.

Dan Pryatt ran his 50th parkrun in 19:52 whilst youngster Jack Skinner set a new PB in his second parkrun (28:42).

Kathy Littler was among the 229 runners that completed the event as she came home in 34:27 in her first taste of the event.

Gorleston Cliffs parkrun

At Gorleston Cliffs Marc Evans (Great Yarmouth Road Runners) was first home in 17:45 ahead of Beccles & Bungay Harrier William Simm in 17:54. Darren Barnes was third in 18:42.

Louise Bernasconi set a new PB as first female in 21:46 with May Wong second woman in 22:51 (a new PB). Great Yarmouth & District’s Ella Wakeley was third (22:37).

Andrew Buck enjoyed his first experience at Gorleston with the Beccles and Bungay Harrier coming home in 20:47. A total of 225 runners took part in the event - Gorleston’s 450th.
