Olly Stone makes first class debut for Northamptonshire
Norfolk's Olly Stone makes his first class debut for Northamptonshire this morning after being named in the team for the County Championship Division Two match against Yorkshire at Headingley.
The 18-year-old Vauxhall Mallards pace bowler featured in Northants' Clydesdale Bank 40 defeat against Warwickshire on Sunday, bowling 3.4 overs.
With Chaminda Vaas and Jack Brooks not fit to play, Stone has been handed the opportunity to spearhead the attack in the four-day match which starts this morning.
Stone made his Northants debut last July in a Twenty20 match at Durham and later that month he played his first Minor Counties Championship match for Norfolk against Bedfordshire.
Northants are currently fifth in Division Two, one place behind Yorkshire.
Stone is not joined in the squad by another Norfolk product, batsman Rob Newton, as he is currently sidelined with a wrist injury.
Northants won the toss this morning and have chosen to bat.
