Another Norfolk Twenty20 tournament gets under way at Manor Park on Tuesday evening.

The first of nine games sees Norwich take on sole Norfolk Alliance representatives Brooke in the group stages (6pm start, free admission).

As was the case last season the competition has been split into two groups of three, with holders Swardeston joining Norwich and Brooke and Great Witchingham, Vauxhall Mallards and hosts Horsford making up the other section. The top two in each group will progress to the semi-finals.

The tournament, once again being sponsored by financial advisors NW Brown, concludes with a final at the home of Norfolk cricket on the evening Friday, August 10.

The full list of fixtures is: June 12 - Norwich v Brooke, June 14 - Great Witchingham v Vauxhall Mallards, June 20 - Swardeston v Brooke, June 21 - Horsford v Great Witchingham, July 3 - Horsford v Vauxhall Mallards, July 5 - Swardeston v Norwich, July 19 - first semi-final, August 2 - second semi-final, August 10 - final (reserve day August 17).

Swardeston beat Great Witchingham by 72 runs in the final to win the 2017 competition.

There's a mouth-watering fixture in the Gibbs Denley East Anglian Premier League tomorrow, with Swardeston playing host to Sudbury.

Not only is it a match-up between last season's champions and runners-up but it's also sees the current top two going head to head.

Swardeston go into the match with a four point advantage over the defending champions, having strung together an impressive run of five successive wins since losing their opener at Mildenhall and seeing their first home fixture against Cambridge Granta washed out.

Sudbury have also won five out of six, with their only blemish being a heavy home defeat at the hands of Horsford on May 19, so the scene is set for a showdown to savour at The Common (11am start).

Third placed Mildenhall, just a couple of points further back, host Frinton tomorrow while Horsford are at home to Bury St Edmunds, Norwich take on Copdock at Postwick and Vauxhall Mallards and Great Witchingham meet at Halvergate.
