Members of Norwich University of the Third Age (U3A) have been celebrating 10 years of sociable swimming at Sportspark in Norwich.
Over 20 swimmers celebrated the 10th anniversary with a free swim and refreshments courtesy of the Sportspark and Sportscaf, based at the University of East Anglia (UEA).
In 2002 Mike and Joan Forrest decided to set up the swim group. Already members of Norwich U3A, Mike and Joan wanted to create a group whereby people could exercise and socialise with a relaxing swim and get together at the Sportspark.
Ten years on the group is still going strong with nearly 30 members, catering for those no longer in full-time employment.
Mike said: 'We decided the Sportspark would be the ideal venue for a sociable swimming group with its combination of an excellent pool, caf, car parking facilities and frequent bus connections.'
While Sportspark's acting director, Maria Rowe, congratulated the group on its longevity and success, saying: 'I hope that the Sportspark will continue to be its host for many years to come.'
