Norwich United have announced the signing of Harry Barker from troubled Lowestoft Town.

The 22-year-old Norwich-born defender has joined the Planters after signing a contract until the end of next season with a one-year option on extending the deal.

Manager Steve Eastaugh said: 'We are delighted to bring a player of Harry's quality to the football club. We had hoped that we could have a conversation with him in the summer with him being out of contract, but to get him now is really pleasing. Harry's technical ability and defensive attributes will have an immediate positive impact on the group. He is motivated by all the right things and made the signing really simple with his desire to want to play for Norwich United.'

Harry, who was part of the Norwich City Academy from the U9s through to making appearances for the U21s, has spent the last three seasons at Lowestoft where he made 129 appearances.
