The visitors had won seven of their 10 previous games to move clear in second place, but it was the strong wind from the east blowing straight down the ground that proved the winner.

Bowers, playing with the wind in the first half, took the lead after 33 minutes when David Knight struck a shot into Andy Wilton's top corner, giving the in-form keeper no chance.

With the wind at their backs the Planters equalised on the hour, Stewart beating visiting keeper Callum Chafer to a ball into the area and touching it past him and inside the far post.

Ben Jones could have sealed the victory in the closing minutes but hit his shot narrowly over the bar at the far post.
