Steve Eastaugh has done some savvy work as he continues to ease Norwich United away from the relegation danger zone.

The Planters boss goes into the Good Friday home game against Maldon & Tiptree (3pm) in the knowledge he has a group of players committed to the club’s future.

Sam Applegate, 25, Sam Watts, 27, and Ben Jones, 24, have all agreed new two-year contracts to stay at Plantation Park – while club captain Andy Eastaugh has also signed for another season.

Steve Eastaugh said: “These four are the back bone of our dressing room and securing their futures allows me to strengthen for next season. This year has been difficult and in order to attract players that will take us forward, they will need to see the calibre of the group we already have here.

“Players of the experience, commitment and ability of Andy, Sam, Ben and Sam allow me to go do that now and I’m delighted they want to continue to be a part of our football club.”
