Norwich United produced a dominant performance against visitors Thetford Town to reach the third round of the Thurlow Nunn League Cup last night.

The Planters won 5-0, with Paul Cook leading the way with a hat-trick. Cook put United ahead in the first half and made it two after the break before goals from Matt Blake and Jamie Speller stretched the lead.

Cook then scored his third to complete the rout. Kirkley and Pakefield also made progress as they won 3-1 at struggling Diss Town. Payton Swatman and Ross Gilfedder put the Royals 2-0 up before the break.

Diss pulled one back but Ross King had the final say.
