Norwich United eventually claimed all three points with an improved second half display against near neighbours Wroxham at Plantation Park.

Goals from Shaun Wones and Adam Hipperson saw the Planters finish their home programme with a victory despite the best efforts of visiting goalkeeper Harley Lemmon. The youngster, playing just his second game for the Yachtsmen, produced a string of fine saves to help keep the visitors level until 16 minutes before time.

A poor first half was most notable for both goalkeepers, Andy Wilton did well to read a late bobble to turn wide a long range shot from Ben Fowkes as well as denying Ross Gilfedder's lob. At the other end Lemmon produced a fine diving save to deny Dawid Radomski's first time volley.

After the break the hosts increased pressure on the Yachtsmen's defence and an early driven cross from Christy Finch was just too far ahead of Hipperson.

Lemmon did well to get down to Stewart's free kick to the near post and then held Finch's glancing header from a Hipperson cut back.

Sam Watts glanced a header inches wide of the far post before Lemmon once again denied Finch and a minute later turned behind Hipperson's stinging drive to the near post.

The Planters finally beat Lemmon when the impressive Jamie Speller put Finch away but the striker saw his shot rebound off the post and Liam Jackson following in hit his shot against the same upright.

The lead wasn't long in coming though with Nathan Stewart's right wing corner finding the head of Wones, who powered his header into the top corner in the 74th minute.

Hipperson hit his first goal of the year to increase the Planters' lead six minutes later, stepping inside a challenge before hitting a tremendous strike that gave Lemmon no chance, the ball coming back off the stanchion with the assistant referee indicating it had crossed the line.

Lemmon wasn't finished with his goalkeeping heroics however, producing a fine double save to deny Finch and Jackson to round off an excellent performance.

Results elsewhere mean that the Planters play-off hopes are finally over but a fine second half performance rounded off their home season in some style.
