Norwich School pupil Rory Cruikshank has been selected as part of the Great Britain team for the World Rowing Junior Championships in Trakai, Lithuania.

Rory will cox the junior men's coxed four. His achievement comes at the end of a great season for Rory with the Norwich School Boat Club, which included a gold medal at the National Schools Regatta.

The news follows the announcement in July that Chris Williams, who works at Norwich School, was chosen to coach the junior men's eight Great Britain team for the Coupe de la Jeunesse in Hazewinkel last month.

The squad spent a week at Norwich School, using the facilities, as part of their training and went on to win a gold and a bronze medal at the championships.

British Rowing Performance Director, Sir David Tanner, said: 'It will be the first step into international competition for these young rowers.'
