Norwich Dragons Ladies found the form they have been searching for all season as they recorded a 3-1 win over Cambridge University in their final East League Premier Division match.
The team, whose relegation was confirmed some time ago, built on their improved performances of late to go into the summer in a positive frame of mind.
After a scramble in front of goal the ball fell to Gail Thomas who calmly slotted home to put the Dragons ahead at the break.
They fully deserved their lead and extended it when a slick short corner routine saw Issy Wolfe deflect the ball home. Cambridge responded with their own short corner goal but the hosts kept their cool and a fine interception from Olivia Thomas saw her break into the circle before coolly lifting the ball over the keeper.
Dragons VI completed their season in Division Two of the Norfolk Empresa League with a title deciding 4-0 win over rivals Lowestoft Railway. The goals came from Gemma Ballard (2), Jemima Dorman-Carrott and Anita Mancini while captain Hannah Woods was player-of-the match.
