Norwich Dragons III clinched the Empresa Norfolk Women's League title at the weekend.

Top spot had been all but secured the previous Sunday when they won 2-0 at Lowestoft Railway, but the long-time leaders made absolutely sure when they came away from Norwich City IV with a 4-0 success.

Jess Haw set the ball rolling with an early goal and it was 3-0 at the interval, with Aditi Naik and Debs Smith converting from short corners.

Dragons converted a third short corner after the break through Ally Windsor Waite to complete a comfortable win.

Closest rivals Norwich City III and Broadland both recorded 9-0 wins and look set to finish second and third respectively.

City saw off Dragons V in emphatic fashion at The Den, with Olivia Greenway scoring four, Annabel Pounder two and Ellyn Roberts, Emily Greenway and Jennifer Stanghan one apiece.

In-form Helen Brockington intercepted a right-wing cross at the far post to open the scoring for Broadland against UEA II and found another a few minutes later with a strong finish from a penalty corner. Lydia Lawrence then hammered home Broadland's third before Brockington completed a first half hat-trick.

Kelly Allen added to the score after the break while the hard-working Helen Kelly scored with an individual effort and Brockington found a fourth goal for the second week running. Lawrence then struck her second before Helen Harper's penalty corner strike completed the scoring.

The students are involved in a three-way battle to avoid the drop with Dragons V and Harleston Magpies IV, who were beaten 1-0 at home by Evergreens.

The battle for promotion from Division One looks certain to go to the wire. Pelicans II hammered Watton II 10-0 to stay stop, while Broadland II remain second following a 3-0 win over UEA II - but Harleston Magpies V and Diss, who have a game in hand, remain very much in touch. Magpies won 2-0 at Carrow while Diss returned from Dereham IV with a 4-1 success. Broadland's scorers were Nikki Baker, Nikki Kent and Abi Dennison.

In Division Two Broadland III beat Thetford 2-1 (Wendy Anema 2).
