Former Norwich City full-back Steven Whittaker has agreed a deal to join Scottish Championship side Dunfermline Athletic.
The former City right-back, now 36, was released by Hibernian upon the expiry of his contract last month, making 160 appearances in all competitions at Easter Road since joining from City in 2016.
Whittaker has penned a one-year deal with the Pars, which will include the Scottish international taking up a coaching role at the club.
Following ex-City defender Paul Heckingbottom’s dismissal from Hibs in November, Whittaker assisted caretaker boss Eddie May in preparing the team.

Whittaker joined the Canaries from Rangers in 2012, and made over 100 appearances for City including an impressive display during the Championship play-off final in 2015.
The full-back was alongside John Ruddy, Ryan Bennett and Seb Bassong among the group of seven senior players released by the Canaries following the arrival of sporting director Stuart Webber in April 2017.
“I think it was time for a bit of change, you could see the direction the club wanted to go but I have not got any issues,” the former Scotland international told the PinkUn last month.
“I only look at myself, I don’t look at anyone else. If my time was up and I wasn’t playing regular football then that’s absolutely fine and we’ll move on. But I will always look with fondness on my time with Norwich for sure.”
Speaking about his future managerial ambitions, Whittaker said: “I will probably go down the coaching, possibly management, route at some stage. I have been doing all my badges, my (Uefa) A Licence, I have been doing an applied management course at university. I just finished that in March and I have only got to do my assessment.”
