Which Norwich City player performed the best in the historic 7-1 Championship win against Reading? Let us know by casting your vote in the poll on this page.
City romped to a memorable Championship victory against a Reading outfit who will hope to recover for a play-off push.
Norwich’s inability to get into that top six mix hinges entirely on their woeful productivity away from Carrow Road. At home, there are few better in the second tier.
Wes Hoolahan notched a brace to bring up a half century of goals for the club he joined in 2008. Alex Pritchard scored a goal with either foot and dragged an angled shot wide after the break as he searched for his hat-trick. Both were ably supported in a game in name only once Nelson Oliveira’s third minute penalty had opened the floodgates.
Russell Martin ended a desperate week on a high note with a goalscoring riposte to his critics. Jonny Howson’s early shot was spilled by Ali Al-Habsi in the move that led to the carnage. Jacob Murphy was foiled twice after the break but looked fresh and sharp after his night off at Huddersfield.
Oliveira again demonstrated he can score goals at this level and was a mobile target for a midfield unit who never let up to cash in on Reading’s vulnerability and inexperience.
Our Norwich City correspondent, Paddy Davitt, went for Pritchard on the basis of his all-round contribution. The young man was irresistible again in the Carrow Road sunshine.
You can cast your vote in the attached poll, which will run throughout the week.
