Brady and club-mate Wes Hoolahan are expected to make the final cut for the Irish, who play Holland in Dublin tonight as part of their preparations for France.

The 24-year-old scored in his country's play-off aggregate win over Bosnia that booked Martin O'Neill's squad's place at the finals.

Both Brady and Hoolahan could face Martin Olsson's Sweden in their group opener at the Stade de France on June 13 before games against highly-fancied duo Belgium and Italy.

Brady said: 'Some people have us written off and it will be tough, but three or four games is a long time – anything can happen. It's massive for us and it's massive for our country to be playing in this tournament – it gives everyone a lift.

'Personally, and speaking on behalf of the whole squad, we're really excited about it and can't wait for it. Every group over there is tough – teams are there for a reason – and we have excellent teams to play over there.

'But, like I say, with tournament football and such high stakes, anything can happen.'
