Norwich City's identical twins, Jacob and Josh Murphy, made simultaneous debuts for England Under-18s in a 2-0 victory over Italy at Mansfield.

The two 17-year-olds were introduced as substitutes by team boss Noel Blake with just over 20 minutes left in front of a crowd of 5,405 at the One Call Stadium.

Goals from Everton striker Chris Long and Manchester City's Devante Cole proved enough to see off the Italians on a wet, windy evening.

Long scored after three minutes and Cole, son of former England striker Andy Cole, struck after 68 minutes.

One minute later, the Murphy twins replaced Cole and Liverpool's Jordan Ibe and the Young Lions ended the match in the ascendancy, with the substitutes both looking lively in the closing stages.
