Norwich City midfielder Youssouf Mulumbu is a loan target for Serie A club Bologna.

Italian football site, tuttomercarto.web, reported on Wednesday Mulumbu could be an option for the Serie A new boys who have reportedly made an enquiry to the Canaries.

Mulumbu has had a bit part role so far under Alex Neil this season after an untimely foot injury in the Canaries' final pre-season friendly ahead of their Premier League return. The 29-year-old, who joined Norwich on a free transfer from West Brom, has made seven appearances, with his last outing coming in Norwich's 3-0 FA Cup third round defeat to Manchester City.

Mulumbu signed a two-year contract at Carrow Road after joining along with former Baggie Graham Dorrans. Bologna, who are currently 12th in the Italian top flight, have already added Sunderland's Emanuele Giaccherini on loan until the end of this season.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail claim on Thursday afternoon Chelsea are considering the Canaries' loan enquiry for Patrick Bamford. The striker returned to the Blues after a frustrating loan spell earlier this season at Crystal Palace. The 22-year-old failed to score in his Selhurst Park stint but was prolific in Middlesbrough's Championship campaign last season that ended in play-off heartache to the Canaries at Wembley.

Bamford has also been linked with a potential loan move to Spain this month. City have a loan option available after completing a permanent deal for former West Ham wide player Matt Jarvis at the start of this window. Neil has been touted with a number of strikers this month and held talks with FC Utrecht's Sebastien Haller and his representative at the club's training ground two weeks ago.

Finally, Sky Italia report Inter full-back Davide Santon is a possible defensive target for the Canaries. Santon spent four-years with Newcastle before a free transfer switch back to his homeland. The 25-year-old has made only nine appearances for the Nerazzurri but Roberto Mancini is prepared to listen to offers for both Santon and fellow full-back Martin Montoya.
