Norwich City midfielder Leroy Fer is poised to complete a club-record move to Premier League QPR in a deal that could net the Canaries £10m.

Fer is in London to undergo a medical on Tuesday ahead of finalising a three-year deal.

The EDP understands the proposed transfer will top Robert Snodgrass' move to Hull City earlier this summer, with QPR set to pay £8m for the Dutch international and the balance linked to the terms of the 24-year-old's original move 12 months ago from FC Twente. City are also believed to have negotiated a 20% sell-on clause for any future transfer of the powerful midfielder.

QPR boss Harry Redknapp confirmed the Fer signing was imminent when he spoke to Skysports on Tuesday morning during an open training session at Loftus Road.

The Dutch international had been included in Norwich's squad for Tuesday's Championship home game against Blackburn after making a second half cameo in the 3-0 weekend win over Watford although Fer made a point of saluting all four corners of the stadium at the final whistle prior to his exit from the field.

City boss Neil Adams had made it clear he wanted to keep Fer despite fevered speculation linking his highly-rated Dutchman with a close season departure, but accepted Norwich may be forced to do business at the right price.

'I've said all along my position would not change,' he said. 'Who in their right mind would open the door to let Leroy Fer go out? We have to accept that business is business and if, and when, the right offer came along we would have to consider that.

'He's a top quality player. I think he was delighted as well with the response from the crowd (against Watford) singing about (the World Cup in) Brazil during the game, and rightly so. He performed particularly well for himself out there.'

Fer had been heavily touted with QPR since Saturday evening with Redknapp identifying him as a top transfer target.

The 24-year-old was also linked to Spanish outfit Sevilla earlier this summer and even on Tuesday he was on the front page of Portuguese sports paper 'A Bola' with European heavyweights Benifca reportedly tracking the midfielder.

Fer joined Norwich 12 months ago from FC Twente and scored three goals in 29 Premier League appearances to earn a place in Holland's World Cup squad where he scored in the 2-0 group win over Chile before a hamstring injury curtailed his later involvement for the Dutch who went on to finish third.
