Norwich City have announced that Under-23s manager Dmitri Halajko will be leaving to take up a senior role at a Premier League academy at the end of this month.

Halajko, who was brought to the club from Colchester United during Paul Lambert's time as first-team manager, has been in charge of the Canaries' development squad since the start of the 2015-16 season.

A statement confirming his exit on City's official website read: 'He has played a key role in the progression of numerous young players while this season has seen his side reach the knockout stages of the Premier League International Cup for the first time in the club's history.

'Norwich City would like to place on record its gratitude to Dmitri for his valued contribution during each of his two spells at the club, and wish him well for the future.

'The club will issue further information regarding Halajko's successor following the conclusion of the relevant recruitment processes.'

City's U23s are due to return to Premier League Two action on Monday night, when they take on Aston Villa at Carrow Road in a 7pm kick-off.
