Speculation linking Tottenham Hotspur full-back DeAndre Yedlin with a loan move to Norwich City has increased after Spurs completed the permanent signing of Kieran Trippier from Burnley.

The 24-year-old started every Premier League match for the Clarets last season but has joined Tottenham for a reported £3.5million following the Lancashire side's relegation.

Trippier has signed a five-year contract – with his move in line with a report in the Daily Telegraph that suggested 21-year-old Yedlin would leave on loan once the transfer was completed.

The speedy USA international joined Spurs from Seattle Sounders in January but has made just one Premier League appearance for the club so far.

Trippier, speaking to Spurs' website, said: 'When I first heard that the club was interested I didn't have to think twice. It's such a big club and now I just can't wait to get started and show everyone what I can do.

'Whenever I get a chance, I want to do well for the other players, the staff and, of course, the fans. I'll take every opportunity I get with both hands and hopefully play my part for everyone at the club.'

As Canaries fans are still waiting patiently for any fresh transfer news to be confirmed at Carrow Road, other top-tier clubs have been active.

Swansea completed the signing of left-back Franck Tabanou from St Etienne on a three-year deal. The France U21 international is reported to have cost around £3.5m, and becomes the Swans' second signing of the summer, following the capture of striker Andre Ayew from Marseille.

Chelsea have also confirmed that midfielder Gael Kakuta, who has made just 16 appearances since joining from Lens in 2007, will join Sevilla after passing a medical.
