Dmitri Halajko is warning his Norwich City youngsters there are no second chances in Tuesday's EFL Trophy last-32 tie against Swansea City's U21s at Carrow Road.

The Canaries cruised through their group, scoring 15 goals in crushing wins over Peterborough, Barnet and MK Dons, but it is knock-out football from now on in the quest to reach a Wembley final.

City's development squad slipped up 2-0 at home last week to the Swans in Premier League Two action but both clubs are likely to involve fringe first teamers for the reunion.

Timm Klose, Youssouf Mulumbu and Steven Whittaker are included in the matchday squad, alongside competition regulars like Sergi Canos and Josh Murphy who have starred in this season's revamped Football League Trophy. Matt Jarvis will also step up his return from knee surgery against the Swans.

'I think both teams will have more senior players, but I think we'll be looking to use the ball a bit better than we did last week,' said Halajko, speaking to the club's official site. 'They scored two early goals in each half, sat back and we struggled to break them down at times.

'We said after the game we were a little bit off on the ball, so we'll be looking to improve on that. They don't get to play in too many games where something is riding on it, that's maybe a criticism of development football at times. The young ones really want to go as far as they can in this competition and it'll focus everybody into making sure they bring their best game. I expect it to up the quality and up the standard of our players.

'To have a game where if you lose it, you're out, you don't get any mistakes means you get one chance to do it right, and that one chance will be tonight. Everyone will want to be in the team and everyone will want to be in the squad. It's probably one of their bigger games of the season and they'll know that.'

Swans' counterpart Cameron Toshack insists his squad's recent win in Norfolk counts for nothing.

'Norwich have been very strong in the group stages of this competition,' he said. 'We welcome a strong test against a good academy side but we know this will definitely be one of our toughest games this season. Our team relishes the opportunity to play in front of a stadium crowd - it give the game a bit of extra spice. We hope to be in a position to drop in a few players with first-team experience, but like in previous rounds this will be another opportunity for our young players to shine.'
