Norwich City centre-back Timm Klose has not been included in Switzerland's official 23-man squad for this summer's World Cup in Russia.
The 30-year-old former Basel and Wolfsburg defender was originally on the Swiss' 35-man provisional list for this summer's tournament – although that was effectively a standby place as their fifth-choice centre-back.
And while the national side prepared for Russia on their pre-tournament training camp, Klose was travelling across Asia – as he illustrated regularly on social media platform Instagram.
A 2-1 World Cup qualifying win in Andorra was Klose's last appearance for his national side, back in October 2016 – having missed out on almost certain Euro 2016 inclusion with the knee ligament injury that also ruled him out of the Canaries' ill-fated Premier League relegation battle.
Back in the autumn Timm Klose admitted he was still hoping for a World Cup summer in Russia with Switzerland – but knew playing in English football's second tier would make it hard for him to convince head coach Vladimir Petkovic he should be selected.
