Norwich City duo Declan Rudd and Ryan Bennett both have a final chance to stake a claim for a place in England's U21 European Championship plans after being included in Stuart Pearce's squad for upcoming friendlies against Romania and Austria.

On-loan Preston keeper Rudd and City team-mate Bennett were yesterday named in Pearce's 28-man party for the games against Romania's U21s at Wycombe on March 21 followed by Austria's U21s four days later at Brighton. Former Norwich loanee Henri Lansbury is also in the Young Lions squad as Pearce bids to fine-tune his preparations ahead of the summer tournament in Israel.

Rudd and Bennett join a clutch of Canaries' team-mates on international duty after this weekend's Premier League trip to Sunderland. Sebastien Bassong and on-loan striker Kei Kamara will be involved in World Cup qualifiers for Cameroon and Sierra Leone respectively. Russell Martin and Robert Snodgrass are in Gordon Strachan's Scotland squad for his first qualifying double header against Wales and Serbia. Wes Hoolahan has also been selected in a provisional 29-man party for the Republic of Ireland's World Cup qualifiers against Sweden and Austria, with City striker Simeon Jackson set to travel to Qatar next week for Canada's upcoming friendly clashes with Japan and Belarus in Qatar.
