Stuart Gray has warned Norwich City not to take Sheffield Wednesday lightly at Carrow Road.

The Owls look set for a mid-table Championship finish this season but proved in a goalless draw at Hillsborough in the corresponding league fixture that on their day they are capable of frustrating the promotion-chasing Canaries.

Gray's men slipped up in the closing seconds of Easter Saturday's 1-1 league draw against Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield but the Owls' chief is confident the visitors will play their part in a big occasion.

'Norwich is right up there and it'll be a cracking atmosphere,' said Gray. 'They are a very good side with some very good players and we know exactly what kind of challenge we are facing. But anyone who has seen us play away from home this season will know what we are capable of too.

'I am looking forward to what I expect to be an exciting game.'

The Owls also face City's promotion rivals Brentford, Bournemouth and Watford over a difficult looking run-in but Gray views that testing schedule as an opportunity to impress.

'We are playing teams who are right up there and who could get automatic promotion,' he said. 'As far as I am concerned, I want as many points as possible and you could see from the way we played against Huddersfield on Saturday that there's no way we can be accused of having the flip-flops on.

'I am looking forward to these games because these teams are amongst the best in the division and you always want to pit yourself against the best.'
