Norwich City boss Neil Adams is confident he will have all the firepower he needs at his disposal for the Championship kick-off after allaying fears over a growing injury list to his strike force.

Jamar Loza and Gary Hooper are the only fit forwards in the mix with Ricky van Wolfswinkel getting round-the clock treatment at Colney whilst Kyle Lafferty and Lewis Grabban sat out the opening 13-0 friendly win of the club's Italian tour as a precautionary measure with leg and heel injuries respectively.

Luciano Becchio looks increasingly set for a summer departure from Carrow Road after being left in Norfolk, but Adams insists that comes with the territory at this stage of the season.

'The good thing is with the three injured lads you are talking a matter of days rather than weeks. I'd be more worried if the prognosis was worst than that but they are minor injuries,' he said.

'You don't want any of course but that is what you have to deal with. Kyle and Lewis were desperate to play but there is no point in taking any risks. As regards Ricky we're keeping tabs on him from here and there is a full-time physio working with him back at home.

'There was a bit of concern about his knee but it's just bone bruising and a slight strain really; no tears or anything of that nature.'

Adams' midfield stocks appear in a far healthier state at present with Anthony Pilkington successfully making his first appearance of the pre-season in the win over SC Vallee d'Aoste.

'I was delighted for him and that was why we kept him on for the full 90 minutes because he has not had any action and he had that sickness bug,' said Adams. 'I thought he applied himself very well. He is another one to add to that midfield collection we have got. I don't think you can ever have too many good players. I thought Wes Hoolahan was excellent for us as well and we are looking good in that area of the pitch.'
