Norwich City have taken their January transfer window spending to its highest ever level – but chief executive David McNally is not ruling out further signings.

Everton forward Steven Naismith has completed his much-anticipated move to City, becoming the club's fifth permanent signing of the January transfer window.

The deal is reportedly worth £8million and takes City's spending to around £20m in estimated fees, recouping close to £9m with the sales of Lewis Grabban and Elliott Bennett.

'We're still looking to see if we can help the squad and help Alex by strengthening in one or two other areas,' McNally said.

'I think the bulk of our business is probably done but that doesn't mean to say we are not still looking. We don't suffer from deal fever here, so we won't do a deal for the sake of it.

'So if there is someone that comes in on the last day of the window, it will be for the right reasons, it won't be because everybody wants us to feature on the Sky Sports show on the last day of the window.

'It won't be because of that, it will be because the player we've targeted, in Alex's view, is going to help the squad and strengthen us in a particular position.'
