Speculation linking Norwich City head coach Daniel Farke with a summer switch to Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt has been brought to an end.

Frankfurt have confirmed that Adi Hutter, who has just led Bern Young Boys to the Swiss title, will be Niko Kovac's successor this summer after signing a three-year deal.

Eintracht's current coach will take over at Bayern Munich this summer and sporting director Fredi Bobic had mentioned Canaries boss Farke as someone he was aware of when discussing his options.

Huddersfield chief David Wagner and former West Ham manager Slaven Bilic were also linked but Frankfurt have now made their decision.

Farke joined Norwich from Borussia Dortmund II last summer and led City to a 14th-place finish in the Championship amid a season of change and financial cost-cutting.

Frankfurt supremo Bobic had told German television channel SPORT1 last week: 'We see a lot of coaches on the market, including Daniel Farke, doing a very good job and developing very well at Norwich City.'

However, it is not uncommon for sporting directors to be open about the options they are considering in German football and it always looked likely to be a big step up for Farke.

The 41-year-old has a year remaining on his contract at Norwich and has worked closely with sporting director Stuart Webber to mould a squad in his image, with more changes expected ahead of next season.
